Dunwoody's trusted, AAHA-accredited veterinarians - caring for pets and the people who love them since 1989
We're a locally owned, independently operated animal hospital right here in Dunwoody. No corporate overlords. No revolving-door doctors. Just the same familiar faces — year after year — who know your dog by name and your cat by personality.
We grew up here. So did our patients.
Dunwoody Animal Medical Center has been part of this community since 1989 — long before the Perimeter was crowded and when Jett Ferry Road looked a little different. We've cared for puppies who grew into seniors, kittens who became lap cats, and families who trusted us with pets through every stage of life. That kind of relationship isn't something you build in a year. It's something you earn over decades.
We're not a chain. We're not a franchise. We're your neighbors — licensed Georgia veterinarians who live around the corner, shop at the same farmers market, and genuinely care what happens to your pet between visits.
What it actually feels like to bring your pet here
-
You'll see the same doctor, every visit. Continuity of care isn't a perk here — it's how we operate.
-
We move at your pet's pace. Our low-stress handling approach means we never rush, never force, and always let your animal set the tempo.
-
Your whole family is welcome. Our waiting room is calm and kid-friendly — because a nervous parent makes a nervous pet.
-
No jargon. Ever. We explain diagnoses, treatments, and options in plain English, and we don't leave until your questions are answered.
-
Worried about your pet today? Give us a call. We can't always promise a same-day slot, but we'll do our best to find a way to get them in — even if that means a drop-off while we work them into the schedule.

Meet your Dunwoody veterinarians
The best thing about a locally owned practice? You actually get to know your vet. Our doctors have decades of experience treating dogs, cats, and the humans who love them. Each brings a unique specialty and a shared commitment to compassionate, evidence-based care. They're the reason clients drive past other clinics to get here. Meet our veterinarians and our support staff.
What Dunwoody pet owners are saying
-
"Very caring & knowledgeable practice. Been around for a long time for a reason!" Pat L
-
"Been going to Dunwoody AMC for over thirty years and have never had a bad experience." Leon K
-
"I rarely write many reviews but I have to RAVE about this place! My poor boy has always been terrified of vets and I've struggled to find him one that he doesn't stress him out as much. However, I am SO GLAD I found this place because (while he was still a little nervous) he was more at ease here than he has ever been at any other vet! The staff did amazing at helping make the visit as stress free as possible for both him and me and I appreciate that more than you could imagine. Me and Toby appreciate y'all and will definitely be coming back here for all of our veterinary needs!" Ashley V
What AAHA accreditation means for your pet
AAHA — the American Animal Hospital Association — sets the gold standard for veterinary care in the U.S. and Canada. Earning accreditation isn't automatic: it requires passing a rigorous evaluation of over 900 standards covering everything from pain management and anesthesia protocols to staff training and surgical facilities.
Fewer than 15% of veterinary practices in the country qualify. Dunwoody Animal Medical Center has been AAHA-accredited for years — because we believe your pet deserves the highest standard of care, not just a good one.
